Known as a premiere addiction industry trail blazer, Michael Cartwright is a noted behavioral health entrepreneur. Currently as the Chairman of the Board of American Addiction Centers, Michael oversees thousands of people in treatment throughout the year. Under the American Addiction Centers umbrella, treatment and recovery options for drugs, alcohol, gambling and smoking are made available nation-wide.

Michael’s current drug and alcohol treatment facilities are located throughout Southern California, Las Vegas, as well the North East and South East regions of the country. His premiere facility is the historical Greenhouse in Dallas, TX. He is an avid fitness enthusiast and has experienced first hand the dramatic transformation that is possible through exercise, nutrition shift of mind-set and overall lifestyle changes when he lost sixty pounds in five months.

Michael Cartwright is a pillar in Dual Diagnosis Management and the founder of Foundations Associates. Under his management, the organization grew to include four alcohol and drug treatment facilities nationwide, including the Canyon, the leading recovery facility in Malibu, California. Certainly a highlight in Michael’s service career is when he served on the Senate Help Sub-committee on Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services. Over a ten-year period, Michael and his companies conducted 15 federally funded three-year longitudinal research studies to determine the specific treatments that are the most successful in the recovery process.

Michael Cartwright established the largest national conference in the addiction industry for 12 years running. He has recently launched a new annual national conference held at the Bellagio Resort – Las Vegas, entitled Lifestyle Intervention which focuses not only on drug and alcohol addiction but on all lifestyle addictions; food, obesity, sex, pornography, gambling, smoking and gaming. This is the only conference in the country where all specialties come together in one place drawing attendees and exhibitors alike.
